Owners Andrew and Janis Hill have over 11 years of professional pet care experience and some of the team members have been with Pet Assist for 10-plus years. All Pet Assist employees receive extensive training through their Pet Assist University. You’ll find consistency in your pet’s care because of our best practices & procedures, cross-training, on-going supervision, and accountability, We even have substitute pet sitters your pet has already met and approved.

Barry Sinker

Barry has worked in animal rescue for a number of years. He has been on the team for over 12 years.

Barry’s Bio

Meet Barry Sinker

Barry has been a part of the Pet Assist Team for over 9 years.

He is a graduate of the University of Waterloo in Ontario and is also a member of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Barry had a long, and distinguished, career in the actuarial field working for major companies. He retired from John Hancock Financial Services where he had attained a very high profile position – being one step away from the top actuarial position in the department.

Despite Barry’s successes in the actuarial field, Barry’s love and passion has always been animals. He has worked in animal rescue for a number of years. He also has a passion for nature photography and enjoys trips to Vermont, New Hampshire, and Canada to photograph nature and wildlife.

Barry currently services accounts in Canton, Norwood and Westwood as well as providing backup in Walpole and Sharon.

Betsy Bertoni

Betsy’s Bio

Meet Betsy Bertoni

Betsy has been on the team for over seven years.

She is a graduate of Quinnipiac University with a degree in Medical Technology. She worked for 24 years as a medical technologist at the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

After enjoying a few years at home with her family and Sam, her Cocker spaniel, Betsy decided it was time to rejoin the work force. She desired a job that would allow her to spend time with animals as well as enjoy the outdoors and Pet Assist fit that wish perfectly!

Betsy enjoys reading, baking, relaxing on the beach and spending time with her husband Peter, son Matthew, and daughter Meredith.

Betsy currently visits pets in Medfield, Norwood, Walpole and Westwood and provides backup in Canton and Sharon.

Bill Stedman

Meet Bill Stedman

Bill graduated from Harvard University and soon embarked on a 40-year career in journalism – most recently spending a decade as managing editor of The Foxboro Reporter weekly newspaper. Along the way, he has won numerous awards for writing, editing and page design. During his tenure, The Foxboro Reporter was twice named Newspaper of the Year by both the New England Associated Press Newspapers Executives Association and the New England Newspaper & Press Association. It was a Distinguished Newspaper runner-up four additional years.

Starting his career as a sports writer and editor, Bill moved on to news and feature coverage, where he also found an outlet for his lifelong love of animals. He started the Pet Page as editor of the Foxboro newspaper and also served as editor of the weekly Pet Day section for its sister newspaper, The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro.

Bill grew up with a menagerie of pets, including a pair of then-exotic Mongolian gerbils shortly after they were introduced to the US market in the mid-1960’s. More recently, he and his wife Eileen and children Caroline and Jack adored their late beagle, Bridget.

A lover of the outdoors, Bill enjoys walking the beach, kayaking and nature photography.

Janet Clinton

Janet’s Bio

Meet Janet Clinton

Janet worked for 30 years as an Administrative Assistant in both private and public settings. She was the office manager for the fast-paced medical malpractice/product liability law firm of McCarthy & Sheehan in Boston. Later she served as Administrative Assistant at Walpole High School supporting both their academic and athletic programs.

She has been an animal lover all her life. Janet grew up in a home that was filled with all types of animals, mainly dogs, and cats, but also including a capuchin monkey, a horse, and pony, raccoons, iguana lizards, parakeets, etc. Her parents bred and showed English Bulldogs and In later years Janet also bred Bulldogs. Her last dog was a beloved 100-pound boxer named Rudy. He was very active and strong but as usual, she trained him well. People would stop Janet in the street to inquire how her dog was so disciplined. They would even ask if he was a “show dog”.

After retirement, Janet decided to be involved in something she truly loves – working with animals
